The Golden Peacock:
A Tribute to Tradition and Legacy
The Golden Peacock pays homage to the Nirmul family’s cherished family restaurant, a cornerstone of the US1 Flea Market in New Brunswick, NJ, during the late 1980s and early 1990's. Known for its giant samosas, rich spicy flavors, hot food, and bustling Indian energy, this beloved eatery wasn’t just a restaurant – it was a symbol of resilience and cultural pride. Beyond its humble roots, the business thrived on the streets of New York, bringing an extensive street food experience to communities across the 5 boroughs and tristate area for years to come.
As a teenager, I worked alongside my parents, family, and friends, learning the ins and outs of food service, management, and hard work. Those formative years shaped not just my skills, but my values, laying the foundation for everything I do today.
This branding package, The Golden Peacock, is a tribute of deep respect and honor to my parents, my family’s legacy, and the countless memories forged in the hustle of those early days. It also serves as the pinnacle of my Arizona State University Bachelor of Science in Graphic Information Technology portfolio – a culmination of dedication to craft, culture, and heritage.
The Golden Peacock is more than a project. It’s a celebration of family, food, and the timeless bond between tradition and innovation.
